Originally, there were two (2) Secure Keys enclosed inside the Package. One of the two Secure Keys is meant to be used as the Spare. If one of the two Secure Keys is lost, the Spare Secure Key can still be used for the Enclosure. It is the user ߦs responsibility to safely store the Secure Keys.
If both Secure Keys are lost, the Manufacturer/Retailer is not responsible for retrieving the data already stored inside the Enclosure. Therefore, it is highly recommended to begin the "Emergency" process once discovered that one of the two Secure Keys has gone missing. First, go back to the Retailer where the Guardian Enclosure was originally purchased and buy/order a NEW set of Secure Keys. Next, use the original (OLD) Secure Key to decrypt the Guardian Enclosure and backup the stored data to a host computer or another external hard drive. Then, use the newly-purchased set of Secure Keys to re-partition and re-format the Guardian Enclosure. Finally, copy the original data back to the Guardian Enclosure using the new Secure Key(s).
