If I have inserted 4 HDDs in the 4-bay System, set the RAID Switch at RAID 5, but have the HD Switch set at 3 HDDs. Will this work?
Yes, you may do so, but the RAID System will automatically reset the RAID mode to RAID 5+HotSpare. The RAID System is created to determine first on the number of HDDs inserted into the System, then the RAID mode setting. Occasionally, the System will still reflect a "healthy" status even though the number of HDDs inserted is not the same as the HD Switch setting.
