To use a 3TB hard drive in the Portable, the unit's system needs to be updated via firmware. Please click HERE for the latest firmware. Once updated, if the system becomes frozen under Mac OS via eSATA connection even after restarting the computer, simply un-plug and re-plug the eSATA cable for the Portable.
